How to Create a Subtitle File?

• Open a plain text editor like Notepad or TextEdit.

• Type in your subtitle text in the following format:

00:00:10,500 --> 00:00:13,000

This is the first subtitle. 2

00:00:15,000 --> 00:00:18,000

This is the second subtitle.

Note: The first line is the subtitle number, the second line contains the start and end times of the subtitle, and the third line is the subtitle text.

• Save the document with a .srt extension. To do this, click on "File" in the top left corner of your text editor and select "Save As".

• In the "Save As" dialog box, choose a location to save the file, give it a name and then add the ".srt" extension to the end of the file name (e.g. "myfile.srt").

• In the "Save as type" drop-down menu, choose "All Files" or "Text Documents (*.txt)" so that the file is saved as a plain text file.

• Click the "Save" button to save the file.
